The Filmmaker

01

Lena believes that storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to build understanding across communities. As an emerging documentary filmmaker, she is drawn to authentic stories that reveal resilience, identity, and the human experiences that connect us. Whether documenting student-athletes, exploring social issues, or capturing moments of everyday courage, she strives to create films that encourage audiences to look beyond assumptions and see the people behind every story.

The Scholar

02

For Lena, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Her academic interests in global affairs, public policy, history, and communication reflect a desire to understand the forces that shape individuals and societies. She approaches every opportunity—from research and internships to international experiences—with curiosity, intellectual rigor, and a commitment to asking thoughtful questions that lead to deeper understanding.

The Leader

03

The Leader

Lena believes leadership begins with listening. Whether mentoring teammates, leading student organizations, serving her community, or collaborating on service projects, she seeks to bring people together around a common purpose. She leads with empathy, integrity, and a willingness to serve, recognizing that meaningful leadership is measured not only by accomplishments, but by the opportunities created for others.

"Learning in a space inhabited by young women, designed for young women, and led by young women has pushed me to assert myself and actively advocate for the changes I want to see in my community."

Lena aspires to become a global storyteller whose work bridges cultures, deepens understanding, and elevates voices that too often go unheard. Through documentary film, research, and immersive experiences around the world, she hopes to better understand people—their motivations, the communities that shape them, and the lasting impact they have on society.

By combining creativity with scholarship and service, she aims to produce work that informs public conversation, fosters empathy across cultures, and inspires meaningful social change.
