The Project

ABOUT

Through hands-on construction and home repair projects, she helped address critical housing needs while gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities.

Beyond the physical work, the experience reinforced the importance of service, teamwork, and building relationships across communities.

It strengthened Lena's commitment to using compassion, collaboration, and practical action to improve the lives of others. The Appalachia Service Project was done for two years and was a week long project
